The competition in the first group of eight players was very strong with Roman Doryn from Leeds winning a very close match against Andrew Wilkinson to take the title. The match went to five with Doryn winning 11-7 in the fifth. In third place was Shahriar Masoudi.

In the second group, it was won by Neil Herrington who beat James Bradbury in the deciding match by two games to one.
Joy Daniels from Scotland finished fourth in this group and was top woman with Barbara Kearney who was sixth in the group, and in second place amongst the ladies.
Group 3 was a countback, with three players, Anthony Ainley, Anthony Doyle and Howard McCain all finishing with 5 wins. Ainley winning against Doyle was by the biggest margin with three games to nil. The Doyle victory against McCain was by 11-9 in the fifth. Howard needed four games to beat Ainley.
The winner of the fourth group was Northumberland’s Gareth Pearson with Mark Hodgson in 2nd place, both with five wins. Pearson beat Hodgson by three games to oe, although Pearson lost to Gary Anderson by 3-1 to bring an end to his hopes of remaining unbeaten.
The Ormesby Club were very pleased to stage the event and to welcome the VETTS members.
