Proposed Changes to the VETTS Constitution

The proposed changes were communicated to Members in the March Newsletter.  We are now confirming the proposals for consideration at the 2024 AGM.

The changes relate to the following areas:

  • An increase in the number of roles on the decision-making Executive, to spread the workload and responsibility around teams of people.
  • The removal of the 200 Club Secretary from the Elected Officers.  This role will be encompassed into one of the new teams.
  • The President to be elected every 5 years, as this key figurehead role tends to be unchallenged and on-going.
  • The remaining Elected Officers remain unchanged.
  • Removal of the clause referencing the VETTS being in Good Standing with Table Tennis England (TTE), as TTE is changing the definition of in Good Standing which would result in the VETTS relinquishing its autonomy and independence.  We are looking to establish a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations.

The attached document provides the precise wording for each change.  These proposals will be discussed and voted upon at this years AGM.
